Well, you have probably guessed by now that I am all about natural healing. I find that it helps to alleviate the problem from the source rather than just treating symptoms. In this way, you not only heal the source of ailment but also protect yourself from relapses that are generally caused when the symptoms are treated instead of the the real problem.
Recently, I was in Singapore for a month and I caught a bad case of the flu towards the end of the trip. So, after the normal course of medications, I was put onto strong antibiotics due to a lingering sore throat and cough. After I completed the recommended course, I had my very first UTI. It started with severe stinging and pain during urination. And, as if that's not bad enough, severe fatigue set in. At this point, I had been sick for over a month with the flu, sore throat, cough and now the UTI. This is when I frantically began searching for natural ways to combat UTI. Here are the keys things that worked for me:
First, drink as much water as you can to flush out the bad bacteria (typically E. Coli) from the the urinary tract.
Second, get D-mannose 800 mg and have it either in capsules or powder (I prefer powder) 3 times a day. D-mannose, a natural component of cranberries, helps to flush out the bad-bacteria sitting in the urethral wall by encircling it and preventing it from forming attachments to any part of the wall
I was able to have 80% relief in 24 hours by doing following:
The basic idea with all of this is to tilt the body's pH from acidic to alkaline. This is why you cannot have sugar in any form. Relapses of UTI are common because the bad bacteria sits dormant in the urethral wall and waits for your body to become acidic before it raises its ugly head again. So, once the UTI symptoms are gone, it is a good idea to continue to have D-mannose 500 mg everyday in order to prevent a relapse.
Hope this helps!

I was able to have 80% relief in 24 hours by doing following:
- Drinking water: 5 to 6 liters
- Drinking as much lemon water as I could tolerate. Continue even though it may sting more because eventually it provides a lot of relief. Lime water is fine too.
- Eat lots of raw vegetables and salads. But, you must NOT have any sweet vegetables such as carrots, beetroots etc.
- By the same token, do NOT have any fruits or sugar (natural or otherwise) as this will make your body more acidic and will aggravate the UTI
- Drink Green juices
- Make the diet 70% raw and 30 % cooked
- Chew 2 garlic cloves 3 times a day
- Drink water boiled with carom seeds (also known as caraway seeds or ajwain). For this heap 3 tea- spoons and boil in 2 cups water
- Take 3000 mg Vitamin C, 3 times a day
- Take Vitamin B complex, 1 tablet 2 times a day
